Yesterday, a large-scale fire broke out in a forested area, where the broadcasting center of state television RAI and other buildings are located on Monte Mario Hill in the northwestern region of Rome, Italy. All surrounding buildings and offices were evacuated due to the fire, which broke out at noon and caused explosions. The flames were brought under control by 10 firefighting teams.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada will recognize the State of Palestine during the 80th UN General Assembly in September 2025. Citing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the need to preserve the two-state solution, Carney emphasized that peace and security for both Palestinians and Israelis require mutual recognition.
