A fire broke out in a five-story restaurant near Istanbul’s Spice Bazaar, causing panic among customers. Firefighters responded swiftly, bringing the flames under control before they spread to nearby buildings.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül confirmed there were no casualties or injuries. “The fire did not occur in the Spice Bazaar but in a restaurant next to it. Crews intervened within five minutes, and cooling efforts continue,” he said.
According to initial reports, the fire started in the kitchen’s ventilation system. Authorities are conducting technical examinations to determine the exact cause.
