On June 26, in the Fatsa district of Türkiye’s Ordu province, a fisherman passed through a waterspout weighing 5 tons that appeared close to the shore. The fisherman, who said to have approached the tornado out of curiosity, caused panic at the shore.
“I approached it and wanted to pass through it because it was not so powerful and large. Even though it was small, it almost managed to lift my 4-5-ton boat. There were buoys and other things on the boat, and it blew them away. I will have no chance of seeing a tornado so closely in my lifetime, and I wanted to take my chance,” said Mahmut Oktay, the curious fisherman.
