A severe blast occurred on the 12th floor of the “Shin Kong Mitsukoshi” shopping mall in Taichung, Taiwan, which was being renovated, killing 5 people and injuring 7 others.
Authorities said the explosion may have been caused by a gas leak in a restaurant.
Taiwanese leader Lai Ching-te ordered officials to immediately investigate the cause of the explosion.
