After the Taliban’s entry into Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, many countries continue evacuations. At least 5 people were killed in a stampede amid hundreds of Afghans tried to board a plane as it takes off from the airport. A US official said in a statement that US soldiers in charge of the airport opened fire into the air to disperse the crowd.
Russia has returned the remains of 1,212 Ukrainian soldiers under a war casualty exchange agreement. Ukraine’s Prisoner of War Coordination Center said efforts are underway to identify the bodies. The International Committee of the Red Cross assisted in the process.
