Five Thais, who were released by Hamas in Palestine on January 30 as part of a ceasefire agreement with Israel, were reunited with their families at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
“Returning to our birthplace touched us all deeply. I don’t know what else to say. We are all truly grateful,” said one of the prisoners, Pongsak Thaenna.
Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, who accompanied the prisoners on their return from Israel, said that one Thai citizen was believed to still be held captive by Hamas and that they were working to bring them back. He also added that they were trying to retrieve the bodies of the two Thais who died in the Israeli attacks.
