Flood Disaster in Northern Armenia Claims Four Lives

A devastating flood in the Lori and Tavush regions of northern Armenia has claimed four lives. Armenian Minister of Regional Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan reported that rescue operations resumed this morning, with over 100 Interior Ministry teams working on the scene. A total of 429 people were evacuated from various locations in the affected areas.

The flood caused significant damage, including the collapse of 17 bridges. Sanosyan stated that while smaller bridges can be restored relatively quickly, the collapse of five major bridges has created severe connectivity issues for some settlements. Efforts are ongoing to address these challenges and restore access.
