The flood disaster that was caused by the heavy rain in Island of Crete, Greece have killed 1, who got stuck in their car that was dragged by the waters in the Agia Pelagia region. There are also 3 people, including a child, who went missing. Authorities have started a search and rescue operation.

Many roads and thousands of houses and workplaces have been submerged by the floodwaters. The municipality of the region stated that all usable roads were closed for vehicles other than ambulances, firetrucks, and emergency vehicles. The flights in the region were cancelled.

The Greek Meteorological Institute stated that the rain may continue for 12 hours and citizens should not go out unless necessary.
