Recent downpours have flooded residential areas in India’s Tamil Nadu state. According to Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sithraman, 31 people died in the past week due to heavy rain and floods, and the number of deaths may increase. More than 40,000 stranded people have been rescued so far, added the minister.
The meteorological service estimates that adverse weather conditions will continue for 5 more days.
