Eight people died, 1,142 hectares of agricultural land was flooded and 11,450 cattle perished in the floods caused by heavy rains in Ghor province and Herat city of Afghanistan. Authorities said that 189 residences were completely or partially destroyed and hundreds of families were displaced.

Meanwhile, 7 people died and 10 others were injured as a result of lightning strikes in Uruzgan province.
