Heavy rainfall triggered severe flooding in Victoria state, southeastern Australia, forcing the closure of the Great Ocean Road and sweeping several vehicles into the sea. Authorities issued emergency warnings for towns along the popular coastal route, urging residents to stay indoors as dangerous flash flooding developed. Around 6,500 homes were left without electricity, while rescue teams assisted people trapped in vehicles and caravan parks. Local officials reported up to 166 millimeters of rain falling in nearby areas within hours, intensifying the flooding.
