In Bolivia, heavy rains caused the Pirai River to overflow in the eastern Santa Cruz region, killing 20 people and leaving 24 missing. Authorities said around 300 people were rescued by helicopter and about 2,100 families were evacuated as floodwaters inundated El Torno and nearby towns.
