Floods caused by monsoon rains caused deaths in the South Asian countries of India and Bangladesh. In India, where 1.7 million people were affected, authorities said 23 people died and 65,000 were forced to flee their homes. In neighboring Bangladesh, 4.4 million people were affected and 13 people died.
