Floods caused by heavy rains in Florida in the south of the USA submerged streets and vehicles. More than 1,200 flights were disrupted at Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. An emergency has been declared for Broward, Collier, Lee, Miami-Dade and Sarasota.
The National Weather Service warned that heavy rains would continue in the state.
Landslides triggered by heavy rain have killed 7 people and left at least 21 missing in southern China. In Guizhou province, 2 were confirmed dead and 19 are still unaccounted for in Qingyang village, where rescue efforts involving 400 personnel continue. Authorities issued alerts for nearby Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, warning of further landslide risks. Similar rainfall last week killed 7 in Guangdong and Guangxi.
