A fire broke out in the forest near Koop Mahallesi in Izmir’s Buca district in Türkiye. Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry teams dispatched to the fire area responded to the flames from the air with two planes and two helicopters. The firefighters also joined the extinguishing efforts from the ground. Teams are still working to put out the flames.

Expatriates returning to Europe after summer holidays in Türkiye formed long queues at the Kapıkule Border Crossing, expressing sadness at leaving their homeland.
Many said they contribute to Türkiye’s economy during visits and urged citizens to value their country. “We miss our homeland terribly. Life abroad isn’t easy, so we must appreciate and protect Türkiye,” said one returnee from Germany.
