A fox searching for food was found frozen solid, standing upright on a snowdrift in the Kerem Zeydan neighborhood of Büyükçiftlik town in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari. Residents initially thought the animal would run away, but upon closer inspection realized it had frozen to death due to extreme cold.
Neighborhood headman Arif Genç said nighttime temperatures in the area drop to minus 28–30 degrees Celsius, making it extremely difficult for wild animals to find food. Authorities warned that wildlife may continue approaching settlements as snow depth exceeds one meter in some areas, urging residents to leave food in safe spots for animals
