A freight train carrying gasoline and propane derailed for an unknown reason and caught fire near Lupton, Arizona, USA. The Interstate 40 road was closed to traffic in both directions and drivers were directed to alternative routes.
BNSF Railway company stated that debris cleaning efforts were continuing, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the accident was being investigated.
The death toll from the devastating floods in Texas has risen to 104, with dozens still missing. The disaster, which struck last Friday, hit the Kerr County area hardest, particularly the riverside city of Kerrville and the Texas Hill Country region known as “flood alley.”
At least 28 children were among the 84 victims confirmed dead in Kerr County. A tragic incident occurred at “Camp Mystic,” where 27 camp girls and a counselor lost their lives. Search operations continue for 10 missing from the camp.
Additional fatalities were reported across neighboring counties: 7 dead and 10 missing in Travis, 4 dead and 2 missing in Burnet, 6 dead in Kendall, 2 dead and 1 missing in Williamson, and 1 death in Tom Green County. Authorities continue search and rescue efforts across the region.
