Following the convoy vaccine protests that began in Canada, a convoy was formed in France to protest the Covid-19 restrictions and measures. The convoy, dubbed “Freedom Convoy” and departing from Paris, arrived in Brussels early in the morning. The Brussels administration stated that the incoming convoy would not be allowed to protest in the city, and police were deployed at numerous points to prevent demonstrators from being taken to the city center. Vehicles with foreign license plates were barred from entering the city by police teams who closed all of the city’s entrances. According to police officials, who stated that no official application for the freedom convoy protest was made, the protest would not be permitted in the city.

Arguing that the vaccination of children is dangerous for health, the protesters in the convoy stated that the Belgians also encouraged the activists to resist the imposition of vaccination. Police vehicles, which block all entrances to the city, only allow entry to Heysel C parking area. There is no clear information about whether the protesters will gather in the city center during the day.
