French cyclist David Meignan has reached Türkiye after a six-month journey covering 7,000 kilometers across eight countries. Starting from Les Sables-d’Olonne in France on August 12, 2024, he traveled through Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Greece before entering Türkiye via Edirne. He then passed through Istanbul, Ankara, Cappadocia, Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, Batman, Tatvan, and Van. Despite encountering -18°C temperatures in Çaldıran, he continued pedaling. Meignan plans to proceed to Georgia via Doğubayazıt and Iğdır, then head to Kars.
