An explosion caused by gas leak destroyed 4-storey residential building, and damaged surrounding buildings in Agrigento on the Sicily, Italy. Firefighters found three bodies in the rubble of the collapsed building, and rescued two people. Six others are reportedly still missing. Search and rescue efforts are still continuing in the scene.

Governor Pamela Baricuatro described the flooding as “truly devastating,” saying residents were caught off guard by rising waters. Many people climbed onto rooftops to await rescue as streets turned into rivers. The storm is now heading toward central Vietnam, with scientists warning that climate change is intensifying such extreme weather events.
