An explosion occurred on the 8th floor of a 15-story building in the historic center of Mexico City. The fire that erupted in the building spreaded quickly. While many firefighters and first aid teams were sent to the scene, the fire was brought under control after long efforts. Seven people were injured, 5 of the injured were treated at the scene, and 2 injured were taken to hospital, authorities said. 400 people living in and around the building were evacuated for safety reasons, officials stated.
According to the initial findings of the investigations, the explosion was caused by the accumulation of liquid petroleum gas.
