Tania von Uslar-Gleichen, the General Director of Legal at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, defended Germany’s position against Nicaragua’s accusations of supporting Israel’s actions in Gaza at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). She emphasized that Israel’s security is a top priority for Germany due to historical reasons.
Amid ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza, Nicaragua has filed a case accusing Germany of aiding Israel politically, financially, and militarily. The ICJ’s second hearing addressed these claims and Germany’s defense against them. Nicaragua seeks urgent measures to halt German support for Israel and resume aid to UNRWA for Palestinian refugees.
