A large rock that broke off a mountain next to a highway in Lima, the capital of Peru, fell on a truck that was parked. Two passengers in the truck died at the scene, while the driver was seriously injured. Officers who initiated work to identify the casualties said they found an ID written in Chinese.
Authorities warned the public to “be careful” due to the bad weather conditions in the region.
At least 18 people were injured when two passenger trains collided on a suburban line between Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, and the nearby town of Pezinok. The injured were taken to four hospitals under Bratislava University Hospital.
Authorities said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and Slovak Railways has launched an inquiry. The incident follows another train accident in eastern Slovakia last month that injured 20 people.
