The Kalamış coast in Istanbul’s Kadıköy district has been flooded due to rising water levels and giant waves during the southerly winds, temporarily putting the pedestrian path on the coast out of use.
Following a heat wave in Istanbul, recent rainfall has failed to replenish the city’s dams, with the overall occupancy rate now at 49.96%. The Alibey Dam, currently at 33.32%, showed severe drought conditions, with aerial footage revealing the emerging Güzelce Aqueduct as the water level receded. While Elmalı Dam remains the fullest at 67.42%, Istrancalar Dam is critically low at 27.44%.
