Around 44,000 people have visited Gilindire Cave, which was registered as a natural monument in Turkish city Mersin, and opened to the visitors 8 years ago. Since formations such as stalactites and stalagmites in the 555-meter-long cave have been under water throughout history, they have survived to the present day without being affected by atmospheric changes. While the unique Mediterranean Sea can be observed outside the cave, a spectacular lake at the end of the cave attracts the visitors.
