A university student rescued a person who fell in the pit that was filled with water due to heavy rain in Gümüşhane, Turkey. 19-year-old Efsun Sena Ateş who left home to go to downtown, suddenly fell into water when she stepped into a puddle. Ateş, struggling to escape, lost consciousness after a while. Özgür Akgün, a student of the Department of Emergency Aid and Disaster Management at Gümüşhane University, who saw that Ateş on the water from the balcony of his dormitory, saved the girl from the pit full of water.
Ateş was treated at Gümüşhane State Hospital after being pulled out of the water by the Emergency Service teams who arrived on the scene. Ateş was reported to be in good health, and the teams worked together to close the water-filled pit.
