The Göyne Irrigation Dam in Erzincan experienced surface freezing due to cold weather, with temperatures dropping to 15 degrees below zero. The dam, utilized for agricultural irrigation and cage fishing, displayed frozen streams and dams across the Eastern Anatolia Region of Türkiye. Some citizens tested the ice thickness with stones, capturing stunning views from a drone. Fish cages remained trapped beneath the ice in the dam, covering approximately 48 thousand decares of agricultural land. The 12th Regional Directorate of Meteorology forecasts partly cloudy conditions with increasing cloud cover, occasional fog, haze, and the possibility of icing and frost during morning and night hours.
