Search and rescue efforts continue on the ferry that left the Greek city of Igoumenitsa to go to Italy and burst into the flames near Corfu Island. 14 people among 278 on board were reported to be missing. Six of the missing were identified, including a Turkish national, authorities said. A helicopter was put on standby in order to evacuate the stranded people in the scene. The evacuated passengers were taken to Corfu, and one person with respiratory problems was taken to the hospital, authorities said. At least 3 Greek guard ships and Italian patrol boat Monte Sperone are participating in the rescue operation, authorities added. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
