Officials in Greece said that forest fires were being fought in the Attica region, Euboea Island, Aynoroz Peninsula, and Thessaloniki, and that 2,755 people were evacuated. More than a hundred firefighters and 35 vehicles, 2 planes and 1 helicopter of the Greek Fire Brigade were reported to have responded to the fire in the Aynoroz Autonomous Region, which belongs to the Orthodox Greek Church, while 28 monasteries and holy temples are located on the skirts of Mount Aynoroz, which is on the Unesco World Heritage list.
