At least 15 irregular migrants were killed when a boat carrying them collided with a Greek Coast Guard vessel off Chios Island in the eastern Aegean Sea, near Greece. The incident occurred during a coast guard chase after the speedboat, believed to be operated by smugglers, attempted to reach the Myrsinidi area on the eastern coast of Chios Island.
Greek authorities said all passengers were thrown into the sea, killing 11 men and four women and injuring 26 others, including two coast guard officers. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
