Hamas Political Bureau Member Khalil al-Hayya confirmed the death of Yahya Sinwar in a statement. Stating that Sinwar’s death would strengthen Hamas even more and that Israel would regret killing him, al-Hayya said that the 101 people held hostage in Gaza would not be released until the Israeli attacks end and Israeli forces withdraw from the Palestinian territories. He also said that Hamas will continue to exist in all Palestinian lands with Jerusalem as its capital until a Palestinian state is established.
