Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran, where he attended the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard reported that one of Haniyeh’s guards was also killed.
The Iranian press said that the incident was being investigated and that details of the attack would be published later.
Iran successfully launched its domestically produced “Nahid-2” communications satellite into orbit from Russia’s Vostochny Cosmodrome aboard a Soyuz rocket. Weighing 110 kg, the satellite was placed in its designated orbit at 500 km altitude. The launch was part of a multi-satellite mission, which also included Russia’s “Ionosphere-M3” and “Ionosphere-M4” satellites, alongside 18 smaller satellites from other countries.
