On the twenty-first day of Ramadan, Muslims commemorated the Martyr Day of Prophet Muhammad’s cousin Hazrat Ali at the Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir. The crowd prayed while the head priest presented some of the beards believed to be Prophet Muhammad’s from the shrine.
Hazrat Ali was slained on the 21st day of the holy month of Ramadan more than more than 1,400 years ago.
