Heavy rain and wind brought life to a standstill in the cities of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Main roads and streets were flooded, and businesses were heavily damaged. Authorities told locals to stay away from the flooded areas.
The National Meteorological Center said the rains are expected to continue until Tuesday.
