Hezbollah in Lebanon launched a rocket attack on the northern Israeli city of Safad in retaliation for the Israeli army’s attacks on the Lebanese capital Beirut.
Hezbollah authorities stated that the attack was carried out “in defense of Lebanon and its people and in response to Israel’s barbaric attacks on cities, villages and civilians.” In a separate statement, it was noted that the northern Israeli city of Karmiel and the Sa’ar kibbutz were also hit by rockets.
Israeli police reported significant material damage.
