Fires rage across northern Israel after rocket attacks by Lebanon’s Hezbollah Movement. Since Sunday, the attacks have sparked fires in Kiryat Shmona, Amiad, Kfar Giladi, and Betzet. Israeli fire and rescue services report extensive road closures and ongoing firefighting efforts involving over 30 firefighters. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are aiding the efforts, with six soldiers hospitalized due to smoke inhalation. According to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, more than 10,000 acres have been scorched in the aftermath.

Speaking at the 13th Meeting of High Security Officials in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that a new round of direct negotiations with Ukraine will be announced shortly. He recalled that Istanbul hosted the first round on May 16 and said Russia will continue to demand the repeal of laws in Ukraine that restrict the Russian language, culture, and the Russian-linked Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Lavrov reiterated that Ukraine’s neutral status remains a key demand in peace efforts.
