The 15 high-rise buildings that had been sitting unfinished for eight years as part of the Liyang Star City Phase II project were demolished with blasts which lasted 45 seconds. The project, which started to be built in 2011 in Kunming city of the Yunan province of China, was transferred to a different company in 2012 due to lack of fund. However, no progress could be made as the buildings have become irreparable due to the accumulation of water on their foundations.
