Earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.6 in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye, also affected historical structures and sanctuaries that had existed for hundreds of years. According to the reports, 42 historical structures were damaged, 39 of which were mosques.
One of the mosques damaged in the earthquake was the 450-year-old Saraç Hane Mosque in Kahramanmaraş. The earthquake completely destroyed the mosque, which was built in 1618 by Hacı Ali Bey, one of Ottoman Emperor Beyazıt’s sons.
