Homs Residents Vow to Rebuild After Years of War

Homs, Syria’s third-largest city, remains deeply scarred by the 13-year civil war. Once the epicenter of anti-government protests and fierce clashes between regime forces and opposition groups, the city now faces a harsh reality with no electricity and widespread destruction.

Residents describe the Assad regime as “61 years of oppression” and express hope for rebuilding once the regime falls. In Al-Shuheyda Square, civilians gather near the Khalid bin Walid Mosque, surrounded by destroyed buildings and bullet-riddled structures, symbolizing the prolonged devastation.
