Police shot dead a wandering Tennessee man Landon Eastep on the highway in Nashville in the US. A police officer noticed the man walking by the side of the road, and stopped to told him to get out of the way. The police officer called a backup team after Easten refused to leave. Trying to persuade Eastep, the police pulled out their guns. Further, 9 police officers opened fire and shot Easten dead right after seeing him raising his hand with an object. The horrific incident captured by someone went viral on social media, where people showed great reaction.

Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron said in a statement on the matter that Eastep had a utility knife in his left hand and was walking down the highway before he was shot. Aaron stated that the police tried for about half an hour to defuse the situation, but when Eastep suddenly pulled an unknown object out of his right pocket, nine police officers shot at Eastep. Expressing that he did not know what the object was, Aaron said that the object was not a firearm.
