In Cappadocia, a region listed as a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage site, hot air balloons took to the skies adorned with Turkish flags and banners to commemorate July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Launching from Paşabağı in Nevşehir’s Avanos district early in the morning, the balloons created a stunning visual display. Hot air balloon pilot Alper Çetin remarked, “We are flying today to honor July 15, Democracy and National Unity Day, and to remember the nearly 240 martyrs of the treacherous coup attempt. Our flight ensures that this event is always remembered and never forgotten.”
