Climbers who ice climb on the Kasık Waterall, located on Türkiye’s Mount Ararat, every winter were disappointed by the global warming this year. As the amount of ice and its density were lower than expected, the climbers failed to enjoy their climbing adventure to the fullest.
“There have been meltdowns, but we will try. Unfortunately, even though it is winter, the weather is very hot due to global warming. Ten days ago, this place was completely covered with ice, but now it has melted by 60–70 percent,” said one of the climbers.
