A fire broke out on the rooftop of a 5-storey hotel in the touristic district of Beyoğlu in Istanbul. The fire, which was said to have been caused by an electrical fault, caused panic among citizens and tourists. It was said that there were no injuries or deaths in the hotel, which was quickly evacuated.
“I was sitting here drinking coffee. Then I saw the smoke and realized the roof was on fire. It was terrible. Everyone, including the tourists, was running away screaming,” said Ömer Keskin, a shopkeeper.
