Hungary’s parliament has passed a bill banning LGBT marches, with opposition lawmakers protesting by lighting colored flares in the chamber.
The law, proposed by Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s Fidesz party, criminalizes organizing or attending LGBT events deemed harmful to children. Violators face fines of up to 200,000 forints ($546), and authorities can use facial recognition to identify attendees. The bill passed with 136 votes in favor and 27 against, despite strong opposition from the Momentum party.
