Armed clashes between Druze and Bedouin groups in the southern Syrian city of Sweida have left over 30 dead and 100 injured, according to the Interior Ministry.
The violence reportedly began after a series of kidnappings, including the abduction of a Druze merchant on the Damascus-Sweida highway. Authorities have deployed security forces and promised to prosecute those responsible.
Interior Minister Enes Hattab urged public cooperation, stating, “Security must be ensured, and civilian peace restored.” Experts warn the violence could escalate further if not contained.
