In a press meeting yesterday, US President Donald Trump stated that he did not know what would happen in the Gaza Strip if Hamas did not release the Israeli prisoners by 12:00 as it previously stated.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow (Saturday) at 12’o clock. If it was up to me, I would take a very hard stance but I can’t tell you what Israel is going to do,” said the American leader.

Trump had previously said that if all the prisoners held by Hamas were not released, the ceasefire could be canceled and that “all hell would break loose.”

Clashes that erupted in Libya’s capital, Tripoli, following the killing of Stability Support Unit leader Abdulghani al-Kikli have ended with a ceasefire.

Fighting broke out on May 12 between the 444th Brigade of the Libyan National Unity Government and the powerful militia group Rada (Special Deterrent Force). The Libyan Ministry of Defense announced a ceasefire by midday to protect civilians in conflict zones.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) had earlier expressed deep concern over violence in densely populated areas and called for an immediate truce.

Government forces gained control of Abu Selim, a known stronghold of the Stability Support Unit. So far, six people have been reported dead.
