The Israel Defense Forces said that “three terrorists” were eliminated during operations in Gaza and that one of them might be Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The authorities, who said that the deceased could not been identified yet, also said that no traces of hostages were found in the attacked area.
Yahya Sinwar had replaced Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau who was assassinated in Tehran, Iran, on July 31.
