The police’s harsh intervention against supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party, Tehreek-i Insaf (PTI), who took to the streets in many Pakistani cities, continues. After Lahore and Karachi, police in the capital Islamabad used tear gas on PTI supporters.
While it was reported that demonstrators set fire to trees and vehicles in the capital city, it was also stated that PTI supporters attacked firefighters who came to the region to respond to the fires.
