A bus carrying 28 passengers crashed into a 200-meter deep gorge in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. A large number of first-responder and police teams were called to the scene. Arpan Yaduvanshi of the Uttarkashi Police Department reported that 25 people were killed including the bus driver, and four others were injured. Interior Minister Amit Shah stated that he met with the head of state regarding the incident and that search and rescue efforts are ongoing in the area.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to those who lost loved ones in the accident, saying the bus accident in Uttarakhand was heartbreaking.
