A 23-year-old Indian trekker named R. Babu got trapped between rocks after slipping down a hill in Indian state of Kerala. The incident occurred on Monday in Palakkad city, where Babu and three of his friends went for trekking. Babu slipped down into a cavity on the edge of the hill while climbing, where he stayed for 2 days without food and water.
He took and sent photos to rescue teams to assist them in locating him. Rescuers used drones to pinpoint his location. However, due to the topography and steepness of the terrain, coast guard helicopters failed to reach Babu. This morning, Babu was finally rescued by an Indian army mountaineering team with ropes.
He expressed gratitude to the soldiers who had saved him. He was given water and food by army personnel, and was taken to a hospital for necessary treatment.
